Affordable housing helps create financial stability and healthy environments. Communities thrive when people have access to quality, affordable housing. Neighborhoods and communities become stronger and more secure.
Down Home is our response to the affordable housing crisis we are facing in Cass County. Downhome has tiny homes for single seniors or disabled individuals, 2 and 3 bedroom townhomes and 3-4 bedroom single family homes. Downhome has 6 units to be used as transitional housing units for homeless families with children.
Down Home offers unique community attractions not seen in other communities. We offer shuttle bus service from the community to area shopping centers and connecting bus/train stations. Down Home has walking trails, accessible parks and a fully stocked pond for fishing. Down Home has a community center with a state of the art sensory room for special needs children and adults, exercise/weight room, conference rooms and internet cafe and a zero entry pool for families to stay cool all summer. The community center has a storm shelter to keep residents safe in case of a tornado or other natural disaster.
