Bridge Over Troubled Water

Food Pantry-Belton

Fighting Hunger. Restoring Hope. Strengthening Families.

The Bridge Over Troubled Water Food Pantry is a vital service of the Family Resource Center of Cass County, providing weekly access to nutritious groceries for individuals and families facing food insecurity. Through a welcoming, client-choice shopping experience, clients can select shelf-stable items, fresh produce, proteins, and culturally familiar foods that meet their household’s needs.

Serving an average of 240 households each month, the pantry supports seniors, single parents, veterans, and families in crisis across Cass & South Jackson Counties in Missouri and Johnson County, KS. Our approach is rooted in dignity and compassion, ensuring no one leaves empty-handed or unseen.

But we’re more than a food pantry. Clients are connected to wraparound support services, including housing assistance, utility relief, baby and hygiene supplies, case management, and Medicaid navigation. Over 80% of pantry visitors go on to access additional resources through the Family Resource Center of Cass County, Missouri, such as Self Care. which addresses period poverty amongst school-aged females, Resource One Health Connection, Summer Food 4 Kids program, utility assistance, and/or the Baby Pantry program.

With food insecurity affecting more than 10% of residents in Cass County, Missouri (Missouri Hunger Atlas, 2023), the need continues to grow. That’s why we’re committed to reducing hunger and building stability, one family at a time.

Serving With Purpose

We provide a supermarket style food pantry which allows families to choose the foods their family prefers.

Families can choose from frozen beef, chicken, pork, turkey or plant based meat substitutes. Fresh produce each visit, hot food served daily, and frozen vegetables are just a few ways we work to help keep our community healthy.
