Bridge Over Troubled Water
Mobile Food Pantry Bus
Fighting Hunger. Restoring Hope. Strengthening Families.
The Bridge Over Troubled Water Food Pantry is a vital service of the Family Resource Center of Cass County, providing weekly access to nutritious groceries for individuals and families facing food insecurity. Through a welcoming, client-choice shopping experience, clients can select shelf-stable items, fresh produce, proteins, and culturally familiar foods that meet their household’s needs.
Serving an average of 240 households each month, the pantry supports seniors, single parents, veterans, and families in crisis across Cass & South Jackson Counties in Missouri and Johnson County, KS. Our approach is rooted in dignity and compassion, ensuring no one leaves empty-handed or unseen.
But we’re more than a food pantry. Clients are connected to wraparound support services, including housing assistance, utility relief, baby and hygiene supplies, case management, and Medicaid navigation. Over 80% of pantry visitors go on to access additional resources through the Family Resource Center of Cass County, Missouri, such as Self Care. which addresses period poverty amongst school-aged females, Resource One Health Connection, Summer Food 4 Kids program, utility assistance, and/or the Baby Pantry program.
Bridge Over Troubled Water is officially MOBILE!
As our community’s needs continue to grow, we knew we had to grow differently. Closing our brick and mortar location was not an easy decision, but it was a necessary one. It allows us to meet families where they are, stretch every dollar further, and respond faster to rising demand across Cass County and the South KC metro.
This isn’t a step back. It’s a strategic step forward.
The Mobile Market means:
• More neighborhoods served
• Fewer transportation barriers
• Greater access in food deserts
• Flexible pop-up distributions at churches, schools, senior apartments, and community hubs
Instead of waiting for families to come to us, we’re rolling into parking lots with dignity, choice, and fresh food in tow.
Bridge Over Troubled Water has always been about showing up when it matters most. Now, we’re showing up on wheels.

Serving With Purpose
We provide a mobile market style food pantry which allows families to choose the foods their family prefers.
Families can choose from frozen beef, chicken, pork, turkey or plant based meat substitutes. Fresh produce and frozen meat each visit are just a few ways we work to help keep our community healthy.
